Tank & Enclosure
Featuring a dead-front, tamper-resistant design, the unit is engineered for both loop feed and radial feed applications. Its crowned or domed tank cover minimizes water buildup, improving durability and ensuring dependable outdoor operation. The cabinet and tank are constructed from mild steel or stainless steel and protected with advanced corrosion-resistant coatings that exceed IEEE standards for extended service life.
For easier transportation and installation, the unit includes recessed lifting provisions and a removable sill. Enhanced security and convenient accessibility are achieved through flip-top or hinged doors fitted with stainless steel hinge pins, captive penta-head or hex-head locking bolts, and padlock provisions. A laser-marked aluminum nameplate together with NEMA/ANSI compliant safety labels provides clear identification and supports safe operation.

Fluid & Accessories
The transformer is filled with new, unused electrical-grade mineral oil or Envirotemp™ FR3™ fluid, an ester-based dielectric coolant valued for its environmentally friendly and fire-resistant characteristics. It includes a top-mounted oil fill and level plug along with a bottom drain plug fitted with a sampling device for simplified maintenance and fluid monitoring.
The unit is also designed to accommodate optional temperature, liquid level, and pressure vacuum gauges based on operational requirements. For enhanced system protection and dependable performance, optional under-oil surge arresters and grounding connectors may also be incorporated.
Performance & Testing
Designed for continuous operation at a 65 °C average winding temperature rise, the transformer is compatible with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz electrical systems. It supports primary voltages up to 34.5 kV and secondary voltage ranges from 120 V to 600 V.
Each unit is subjected to comprehensive ANSI/IEEE routine testing, including polarity, ratio, resistance, no-load and load losses, impedance, dielectric, induced voltage, impulse, and leak tests to ensure dependable performance and high manufacturing standards. In addition, the transformer complies with DOE energy efficiency requirements and meets NEMA TR-1 audible sound level standards for quieter and more efficient operation.
